Travels & things..

I have been on my travels again. I spent a couple of weeks in Tennessee.

You have to really go there to get a sense and a feel of the place it really is quite amazing. Unlike a big city Chicago ,DC Miami etc as a Brit your ‘strange’ ..”why in the hell would you come here..? we’re glad you’re here...but why..!?

Then you have to go through the same story you’ve been over 6 times already that day. Don’t get me wrong I really don’t mind as these are some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. It’s strange isn’t it the people with the least give you the most. I also had a few days in Chicago a completely different place altogether. They are use to tourist so the reaction was different, equally enjoyable, but different.

If you’re a Beatles fan you go to the cavern if you’re a Rolling Stones fan,2120 South Michigan Avenue home of the Blues. I won’t go on about it too much, safe to say for me it was like ‘going home’

All this travelling takes its toll waiting at airports for hours on end ..we had a few flights cancelled or with major delays but it helps to travel 1^st class. Listen, I’m not saying that to be shirty but I’m just saying it helps.

So the F1 season is shaping up to be another Vettel winning season. So far the only good thing is that we have lost that stupid finger apart from that why isn’t there anybody moaning about him winning all the time like they did with Michael, I can’t be a German thing! I loved Schumacher, not really sure why he got such bad press. Well it’s 19 days until race day in Spa. The 7km long circuit has to be one of the best on the calendar. I remember doing the GP a few years ago and we stayed in a hotel, way out in the forest, that had a rubber ceiling…yep a rubber ceiling..!!! There was nothing to do in the evenings after you had eaten so we found a quiz book and with myself as compare the thing went on late into the night, including the regular guests, If I remember correctly even the senior management joined in; I could name them but they weren’t very good..!!!! I first met  Felipe Massa there he isn’t a lifelong friend but a nice guy all the same.

Well that’s all for now I don’t want to give you too much.

I know it was a while ago but my thoughts are still with all the families for the train crashes we have had in Spain & Switzerland. God bless you all.

2nd Unsure Posting..!

Well i've not been very good with my new blog have i ..!!? I'm still a bit unsure what it's all about but i'll persevere. We have had a few things happen at work recently that have made me think about these 'social' sites. As you can appreciate i can't go into to much on this 'social' site..safe to say i fear the worst could happen.These are all very good but you do have to careful what you write on here and what you say about people. I enter these things with the attitude that i won't put on a social site what i wouldn't say to you. You know if your hungary don't go shopping if your mad at somebody leave Facebook and Twitter alone...

My passion is F1 we are in the middle of a couple of weeks break and i'm so looking foward to the teams being back in Europe. These new circuits are ok all nicely painted etc but they lack the feeling of Monza, Barcelona, even Hugrary. I remember driving a truck to Budapest, it's a fantastic drive for a couple of days being stopped by the police several times on the pretence of 'checking my Tacho'  rubbish what that translates into is "..can i have a cap & t-shirt.." which is all fine but just pull me over and ask..i have loads i'll be happy to give you a couple..I remember driving to Jerez for a test, something happened to one of the trucks and i had to take a hire truck which was Right Hand Drive leaping across the cab to pay the tolls was quite a feat and the bruise that got bigger with every toll..3 days of that you can imagine can't you...then after the Test they pulled rank on me and made me drive it back to the UK....i never did get my own back..!

My next project is to find out how to put some pictures on here, old people and technology i here you say..the proof is in the seeing...!!!
